WHAT WE DO

​The Communications Accelerator advances best practices and builds relationships among corporate communications leaders and their teams.


Founded in 2006 by Rick Miller and senior communications officers from P&G and Macy's, we recognize communications leaders have few resources to confidentially discuss their challenges, seek solutions and share learnings. They find that resource here.

What the Accelerator Is

 

We are a learning community with 25 top corporate members in diverse national and international footprints representing consumer goods, retail, financial services, food, energy, health, manufacturing and transportation.


Our members are leaders in Fortune 1000, publicly traded companies that often occupy the front pages of the Wall Street Journal, New York Times and national broadcast media. As a result, their learning is highly relevant and incredibly practical.  

 

What Members Discuss

The Accelerator meets in person twice annually on member-selected topics, including crisis management, reputation, AI, sustainability, purpose marketing, and more. We host multiple virtual sessions and facilitate member connections on topics of mutual interest.

Media Training

Being interviewed by the press is a unique experience. Words, expressions and body language communicate volumes—sometimes with unintended consequences. Our training ensures that messages and delivery are concise, understandable and impactful.

ACCELPartners’ team includes veteran news pros and corporate communicators who have helped businesses, trade groups and nonprofit clients prepare for hundreds of interviews on subjects from breaking issues to corporate initiatives and new product introductions. 


We customize media training to inspire confidence in delivering key messages, using real-life scenarios and group critiques to drive effective results. The lessons learned by being in front of a camera (even for non-broadcast interviews) and by observing others are practical and significant.

Speaker Training

​

Speaking before groups is intimidating. Often, audience perceptions of speakers and their content form in the first several minutes of a presentation.
